Many of our families will know that as part of our Superhero programme, each year we select a new charity to donate funds to that we raise through community days and our Containers for Change scheme. We try every year to combine these with our learning programme and this year, as we learn about Civilisations, we’ll be taking a look at those on the outer fringes affected by homelessness, loss of income and little to no support.
In their own words,
Youth Futures is an organisation that helps young people build a brighter future.
They provide support and resources to young folks who might be facing tough times, like homelessness, challenges in education or unemployment. By offering mentoring, job training, and a safe space to learn and grow, Youth Futures empowers young people to overcome those challenges and achieve their dreams. They believe that every young person deserves a chance to succeed, and they work hard to make that happen. It’s a fantastic cause that makes a real difference in the lives of many young people in our local community.
This year, we’ll be donating all the funds we raise from our Sustainable Superhero programme, plus a top up on our own behalf, as well as any funds we raise from community days such as our Christmas markets!
For each goal we reach, we’ll be doing something fun to remind us of the importance of the work and celebrate our successes. Keep you eyes posted for what we have coming up and get busy collecting those containers!
Youth Futures support children from disadvantaged backgrounds that are adversely effected by numerous events in modern society. Like many charitable organisations, people are a huge factor in how far they can take their work so if you’re looking for somewhere to volunteer reach out to them!
Otherwise, they’re always interested in donations of goods such as toiletries, food, clothing, school supplies and baby equipment. Financial donations are of course also appreciated.
